Coach Randall Chapin
Organizer/Head Coach for the Marathon Blue and Green pace groups
I have been running for many years and have completed over 40 full marathons including the six World Marathon Majors. I began coaching with Round Rock Fit in 2009. I coach the Blue/Green group for the full marathon, serve as head coach, and co-organizer. I enjoy working with new marathoners and watching them progress, but I am always happy to discuss training, race tactics and taper strategies with the experienced runners as well. It is always my goal to make it a memorable season for everyone.
Kathy Silva
Co-Organizer/Assistant Coach for the Walking group
Hi! I’m Kathy. This will be my 3rd year with Round Rock Fit, and 2nd as a walking coach. I have been a supporter and cheerleader since 2011 as my husband is Coach Roy. Since joining, I have completed 5 half marathons, and several 10K’s. The walking program can easily fit many different life styles with 20-30 minute walks during the week and longer group walks on Saturday. So, whether your goal is Family Fun Runs or Half Marathons (the Austin half has beer at mile 12), RRFit is a great way to start.
Roy Silva
Co-Organizer/Coach for the Half Marathon Purple pace group
This is my 13th year with Round Rock Fit and my 7th year as coach with the Purple Half Marathon Group. I joined Round Rock Fit in 2011 with no intention of running a marathon. I considered myself a lifelong runner but had never run more than 10 miles. With the training program and support of the coaches and fellow runners I finished the Austin Marathon. Since then I have completed 6 marathons and many half marathons. I continue to run for my health and mental well being, and have met some really great people along the way. The program is enjoyable and convenient for my crazy schedule.
James Brandenburg
Head Coach for the Marathon Blue/Green pace groups
I started with Round Rock Fit 20 years ago, when it was founded, as a coach for the blue group. Over the years I have completed several events including: Austin Distance Challenge Series, Boston Marathons, Berlin Marathon, Half Ironman events, and others. I’m looking forward to another great season helping the blue/green group and other runners achieve their athletic goals.
Enes Medic
Assistant Coach for the Marathon Blue pace group
I started running with Round Rock fit in 2011 and coaching with Blue/Green group for full marathon few years later. I have completed 31 full marathons including the six World Marathon Majors and many other races and challenge runs. I love running and talking about running with other runners, with the purpose to help them achieve their running goals. I am looking forward to have another great season with Round Rock Fit runners!
Carl Martin
Head Coach for the Marathon Yellow pace group
I began running with Round Rock Fit in 2010 after having four stents placed around my heart, and realizing that I needed to make a change. My wife had already ran 10 full marathons and as many half marathons, so I thought I’d start out with a full marathon. I have learned and continue to learn the good and bad practices surrounding marathon training, and want to share with those who continue to strive to improve. I have enjoyed for many years the camaraderie of the people who continue to show up on not only the great days, but also the cold windy and rainy days. The marathons are the icing on the cake, but the real achievements to me are during the training leading up to those races. I look forward to supporting and cheering on the group going forward.
Mitchell White
Coach for the Walking group
My running with Round Rock Fit started in the fall of 2014, when my gym trainer suggested I consider joining the group to help me reach my overall fitness goals. I had no plans to run in timed events of any length. During the first morning’s run of two miles, I considered quitting; frankly, I was struggling. Coach Mika paced me through to the “win,” though, and I’ve been going ever since. My first season I participated in several runs in the 5K to 10K length, and also ran my first two half-marathons: Disney ’15, and Austin ’15. All the coaches and participants encouraged me throughout that season, and we all became a family of supportive runners. By the next edition several coaches suggested I try out the Reds, “just to see if you like it.” I thoroughly enjoyed that training, though I was still convinced that a marathon was out of my reach. During my second season I ran several shorter events, eight half-marathons, and I completed my first full marathon: the Austin. I also completed the Austin Distance Challenge, a total of six events that included shorter and longer runs. For my third season I committed to the Disney World Marathon Dopey Challenge, and I finished it! I’m pleased and honored to be the walking coach of the group in 2022-2023. I look forward to helping others reach their running and fitness goals, injury-free. My motto: “If I can do it, you can do it!”
Angie Santarelli
Assistant Coach for the Purple pace group
My name is Angie Santarelli. This will be my second year coaching with Round Rock Fit. I relocated to Texas in 2019 and I bring over 20 years of coaching and training experience. I have completed numerous marathons, Iron Man Florida and the Croom Zoom 50k. I feel truly blessed to be able to do something that I am so passionate about. Whether your reason for running is social, physical or mental Round Rock Fit is the perfect community. I look forward to helping others achieve their goals this season.
Karthikeyan Annapillai - AK
Assistant Coach for the Red pace group
I am AK (Karthikeyan Annapillai). I enjoy running and I have been running for the last 10 years. My first half marathon was in 2018 and Full Marathon in 2020 both in Austin. I joined wonderful folks at Round Rock Fit in 2019 for my full marathon training (I had painful experience with earlier half). Since then I have completed 4 Marathons and numerous half marathons. Round Rock Fit running plan helped me with injury free running. I look forward to helping others to achieve their running goals injury free.

Russell Seguin
Assistant Coach for the Red pace group
I started running for health reasons when I was 33, and it was almost 20 years later before someone convinced me to try and run a half marathon. Around that same time, I switched careers from chemistry to rehab massage therapy. My first boss and mentor was a sponsor of Round Rock Fit and suggested I volunteer at their training runs, and I’ve been running marathons and ultras ever since! I’m slow, but have now run over 70 marathons and am working on doing one in all 50 states.
